The Northern Tenants are the residents of the once-great library in the ruins of the old Serran capital. Unlike the other kingdoms, which run along the fertile coast, the Northern Tenants live inland on one of the rivers that snake through the desert. The area is less fertile and more harsh than what their rivals must endure, but for them it is worth it if it means preserving what little knowledge has survived the test of time.

These scholars are devoted to the preserving and expansion of their collective knowledge of the world, and spend their days mostly researching and occasionally exploring and excavating ruins in the desert. They are ruled by an elected Philosopher-King, who is chosen among the wisest of them in hopes that they will always act in the best interest of everyone, currently Rakh Unbata Jolhas.
