Background and History

The jewel of the Peninsula’s west coast, Iron Eye Cove is renowned for many things, including the lumber it produces, its eccentric architecture, and most of all, its smuggling activity. Ruled by Trade Lord Korran Myagos, The Cove is home to the Iron Eye Trade Company that assists in the shipments of lumber to various places in Ganoltir. Recently, the Trade Company, led by the now Captain of the Quina Vjeta, Faustus Rivelle, has taken up the smuggling of goods to and from Fort Sakura. Their success has earned them quite a bit of emerald and has caught the watchful eye of Lord Myagos. While he warns them to take a more legitimate way of trade, Captain Rivelle has no intentions of stopping.

Iron Eye Cove was founded in the late 4th era by a rich Ganoltirian trader, Reii Myagos. Myagos had seen the bay twice while surveying the area, on a hushed mission for colonial expansion from his king, the ruler of Tulrisse. He was to settle the area for its rich lumber production, which would benefit Tulrisse as the region was mostly plains and lacked hearty forests. While Myagos explored the land of the Andorian Peninsula, the king fell ill, passing shortly, and outside knowledge of the expansion project died unwhispered on his lips. Soon-after, a new ruler took his place and continued on leading the kingdom without any suspicion of the project.

Reii Myagos now had the supplies, men, and authority to settle a new colony, but no kingdom to heed deference to. The crew of the Quina Vjeta landed at the Cove and began to set up rough log shelters to survive what would become a cruel winter. Thanks to much help from the native dwarves of the land, they were able to construct the stone and wood buildings that visitors can still see standing today.

The colonists were able to thrive in their environment and a village began to form where only nature existed previously. The Cove became a prosperous village over the century and is now a town, renowned among the people of the Andorian Peninsula. Reii Myagos decided the city was to be named in tribute to the dwarven expedition that helped them survive, the Iron Eyes. Myagos declared that any dwarf would be welcome to Iron Eye Cove, and trade with the underground folk prospered in years to come.

In time, the Trade Lord Reii Myagos became old and on his deathbed, entreated his son to take upon the rule of the City. Reii Myagos II served the people of Iron Eye Cove dutifully until his own death in the 5th era. His son, Korran Myagos now holds the duties of being the Lord of Iron Eye Cove. Korran is a loving ruler who faithfully serves his grandfather’s creation, looking for all opportunities to help her thrive as she once did.
